This Year's Community ScholarsMany of our donors have honored their loved ones, communities, high schools, colleges, or professions by endowing scholarship opportunities through the Foundation's Community Scholarship Program. Below are the students selected as Community Scholars for 2010. Our congratulations to all of these fine students! The David K. Lynch Memorial Scholarship, an annual scholarship established by Cathleen M. (Lynch) Kendall in memory of her husband valued at $240.00, has been awarded to Jessica Hayes, senior at Washington High School. The William and Mary Summers Memorial Scholarship, an annual scholarship established by Phillip M. Summers and William E. Summers in memory of their parents, valued at $500.00, has been awarded to Jessica Hayes, a senior at Washington High School. The Dwight Risley Scholarship, an annual scholarship established by Martha Risley Reiners in memory of her husband is valued at $14,560 this year. This scholarship is divided among the five area high schools and each award will be over $2700.00. The recipients this year are: Shannon Winklepleck, senior at North Daviess High School, Christian Duncheon, senior at Barr-Reeve High School, Kasey Bennett, senior at Washington Catholic High School, Ryne Brothers, senior at Washington High School, and Caleb Holland, senior at Cornerstone Christian School. The McKinley Vance Agri-Business Scholarship is a renewable scholarship established by Lucille Vance in memory of her husband, valued at $850.00. The recipient is Elisha Bault of Purdue University. The Marilyn L. Wallace Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship created by Marcia L. McConnell and Lewis W. Wallace in memory of her mother and his wife. The scholarship is awarded this year to Stephanie Summers, a senior at North Daviess High School. The Lawrell Ray Hilgeman Memorial Scholarship, an annual scholarship created by Veale Creek Players in memory of Lawrell Ray Hilgeman, valued at $400.00, is awarded to Mary McClure, senior at Washington High School. |
