When our donors give unrestricted gifts, they allow the Foundation's trustees to determine how their gifts can best serve the community from year to year as needs and programs change. The earnings from these gifts are distributed through our Discretionary Grants Program. This program allowed us to award more than $65,105 during our most recent grant cycle:

Our unrestricted funds contributing to this grant cycle are the Jay Myers Unrestricted Fund, the Friends of Daviess County Fund, Traylor Fertilizer Service, Inc./Joe and Gladys Traylor Fund, Senator Homer and Irma Capehart Fund, Old National Fund for Daviess County, Midwest Natural Gas Corporation Unrestricted Fund, Edward Jones & Co. Achievement Fund, Black Beauty Daviess County Community Fund, Perdue Farms Inc. Unrestricted Fund, Home Building Savings Bank FSB Unrestricted Fund, and the Maysville Enterprises LLC Fund.

We also received a generous grant to supplement our granting this year.  The Smithville Charitable Foundation offered the opportunity to apply for a grant and awarded $28,370 to support programs addressing the needs of the youth of the North Daviess area.

On October 25, 2010, we proudly distributed a total of $65,105 to the following 18 progams and organizations:
