Youth Council Grant Requirements

Grant Cycle
The Youth Council Fund's current grant cycle will run from February 2012 through May 2012 with the proposal submission deadline March 1, 2012.  The Youth Council will consider funding requests for a broad range of charitable projects or programs that serve Daviess County youth ages 0-18.

Eligibility
Nonprofit organizations that are tax-exempt under sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code and governmental agencies that serve Daviess County youth are eligible to apply for a grant from the Youth Council Fund.  Funding requests from other types of nonprofit organizations to carryout charitable projects or activities that address issues facing Daviess County youth may be accepted; however, the organization may be required to apply using a fiscal sponsor that is deemed a 501(c)(3) public charity. 

Fiscal Sponsors
Nonprofits utilizing a fiscal sponsor to apply for this grant opportunity must include a written statement signed by the sponsoring charity's board president on behalf of the board of directors agreeing to act as the organization's fiscal sponsor, to receive grant monies if awarded, and to oversee the proposed project.

Deadline and Proposal Submission
Submit the following documentation (10 copies) to arrive in the Daviess County Community Foundation office by March 1, 2012.  Please use paper or binder clips to fasten your proposal packet (Cover Sheet, Project Budget Worksheet, Narrative, and Supporting Documents).  Do NOT staple.

Narrative addressing the following (two to four pages): •Description of the project and the expected impact on Daviess County youth and the community •Total cost of the project and the amount of funding requested from the Youth Council Fund •Description of how the requested funds will be used •Project implementation timeline •Desired outcome of the project or results to be achieved

Attachment 2:  Current board roster
Attachment 3:  Organization's current annual operating budget
Attachment 4:  Copy of IRS determination letter establishing 501(c)(3) and 509(a) status (and fiscal sponsor agreement letter, if applicable)
