Eastside Park in Washington is always a place filled with people of all ages. The community building is located there along with two lakes, a walking trail, and playground and cookout spaces, and it’s the location of a variety of events, including bands playing in the summer, an impressive light display during the winter holidays, and the town’s 4th of July fireworks display.  The largest event which fills the park with people from near and far is the 20th Century Chevy Car Show.

Held every September, the Car Show at Eastside Park features hundreds of classic cars that compete for trophies and prizes.  Because of the annual show, the 20th Century Chevy Car Club members have been very involved with Eastside Park and over the years, have grown to love the park.  In 2006, they decided to take a step to make sure Eastside Park was always maintained and improved so that future generations could enjoy it.  They established the 20th Century Car Club Fund with the Daviess County Community Foundation.

The fund is a designated endowment and is set up so the Washington Parks and Recreation Department receives a grant annually to provide for maintenance and improvements at the Eastside Park in Washington.  In just 7 years, the fund has awarded $4,313 in annual grants for improvements and maintenance at Eastside Park.  For the Car Club and donors to the fund, their gifts are making a difference forever by providing the necessary funds for everyday projects at Eastside Park, like painting bridges, caring for trees and shelters, purchasing playground equipment, and more. “For Good. Forever.”
