Daviess County Women's Giving Circle Update

Our mission is to encourage, engage and inspire women and girls in Daviess County to seek achievement of their potential through positive change. 

Our vision is to respectfully provide resources to women of all ages in Daviess County by funding innovative initiatives that remove barriers limiting self-sufficiency.  We will inspire women to make an impact as "women of influence."

On Tuesday, November 1, a group of almost 30 women gathered to enjoy a catered lunch and learn about life planning issues at the first Daviess County Women's Giving Circle Lunch-n-Learn. A panel of local experts including Mary Goss, Attorney-at-Law; Shelly McBride, Attorney-at-Law; and Tara Brower, Edward Jones Financial Planner, presented information to those in attendance about Wills, Living Wills, Power of Attorney documents, Retirement Planning, Assisted Care Insurance options and funeral Pre-Arrangements. Several women later commented that even though they considered themselves savvy about these topics, there were some issues and topics that they had not considered, but would now.

The Daviess County Women's Giving Circle has 4 or 5 more Lunch-n-Learns planned over the next 10 months and will announce these opportunities as the time approaches for each one. One does not need to be a member of the Women's Giving Circle to attend. The public is invited. There is no fee or cost to attend because the Women's Giving Circle received a $1,000 grant from Duke Energy to underwrite the cost of these events.
