Olon Industries Donates to The Daviess County Youth Council

Olon Industries Central Region Washington Facility "Continuous Improvement Team" presented a $1,000.00 check from Olon Industries, to Elizabeth Brochin, an active member of the Daviess County Youth Council, a fund of the Daviess County Community Foundation (DCCF). Sandi Conley, a member of the Continuous Improvement Team, commented "This is a gift that will be giving back to the community forever." This donation is designated for the Daviess County Youth Council Non-Permanent Fund to support their Grant program.
Frank Guratzsch, Operations Manager of the Central Region, stated, " Olon is dedicated to supporting their community and there is no better way to do so than by supporting the next generation." He went on to say that the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation, the City of Washington and the surrounding area supported Olon's desire to move and improve their business a few years ago, making it possible for their beautiful new property and facility. This investment in the future of the young people in Daviess County is one way they are "paying it forward".
The Youth Council vision is to support programs dedicated to improving the quality of life for the youth of Daviess County. The Council was formed in 2010 with the purpose of enhancing leadership skills, educating young people about the needs of their peers and about philanthropy in their community. This gift, added to those of many Daviess County residents and businesses, will aid them in reaching their vision.
Larry Haag, Mayor of Washington and an active mentor for the Youth Council was present with Elizabeth Brochin, Mark Brochin, and Jeanne Fields, Director of the Daviess County Community Foundation. Fields stated, "the DCCF appreciates Olon's continued support of the Foundation and the Youth Council." |
